It’s closer to the festive season than you might think!
It may be that time of year again when everyone starts looking forward to the summer, but the Crowdguard team is already looking ahead to Christmas markets and the Christmas events season, and working with clients to help them plan crowd safety management for their festive season events – from Christmas markets through to New Year celebrations.
Crowd safety management for the festive season.
We’ve already received a high volume of crowd safety management enquiries about festive season events because of our successful track record in deploying the right crowd safety management solutions from our vast range of temporary and semi-permanent HVM and perimeter protection systems. We work with local authorities and event organisers right across the country during the busy festive season to provide crowd safety management installations that protect against vehicle attacks at Christmas markets and other festive season events. And because we offer a turnkey plan, provide, protect crowd safety management service, we specify the most appropriate and proportionate solution to protect against vehicle attacks, which are tailored to each installation to mitigate the assessed threat, and the operational and commercial requirements of the client and the Christmas market or event location.
Amongst the highlights of last year’s festive season was the multi-location event security and crowd safety management installation we delivered for Edinburgh City Council for their programme of seasonal events throughout December. The festive season project combined the use of ATG Surface Guard, ARX Stopper!™ and The Claw, including seasonal branding, which really blended into the city’s eye catching event marketing, and delivered an aesthetically pleasing, non-hostile crowd safety management HVM plan. We also provided event security for the city’s Hogmanay celebrations, which involved more branded ATG Surface Guard, along with the RB50 rapid deployment HVM system, which was put in place to protect against vehicle attacks, as part of the road closure strategy for Princes Street events on the evening of New Year’s Eve. The crowd safety management equipment was then removed in the early hours of New Year’s Day to enable traffic to flow again as usual.
In a whole host of other locations, from cities including Birmingham and Manchester and Newcastle, through to market towns such as Stratford-upon-Avon, and London locations such as Battersea, we also installed HVM and perimeter protection for a variety of Christmas markets. Each installation was tailored to meet the specific crowd safety management requirements of the project, including customisation of HVM systems where required. In Worcester, for example, the ATG Surface Guard system we installed to protect against vehicle attacks on the high street was customised to advertise the jewellers, and the business experienced an 18% uplift in sales during the Christmas market period, highlighting the additional benefits that crowd safety management installations can provide.
Plan now for the festive season.
It’s going to be a busy year for Crowdguard, with a packed sports and events calendar throughout the spring and summer months. But it is never too early to plan for the festive season and Christmas markets, especially when people’s safety is at stake, so now is a good time to get in touch about crowd safety management requirements for your seasonal events.
