Our Plan - Provide - Protect Methodology
Crowdguard is an HVM specialist, not simply a barrier provider. Effective Hostile Vehicle Mitigation starts with understanding risk and making informed, proportionate decisions about how that risk should be managed. Physical barriers may form part of the solution, but HVM also relies on the right planning, processes and operational thinking.
That’s why we developed our Plan – Provide – Protect methodology, to bring our specialist HVM expertise into every stage and ensure measures are matched to the real-world risk, operational requirements and budget, rather than starting with a product.Â
Plan
Understand the risk before choosing the solution
Good HVM starts with understanding the problem, not choosing a barrier.
Our Plan stage is where Crowdguard’s specialist HVM expertise comes into its own. We look at the threat, the vulnerabilities of your site or event, the potential consequences and, crucially, how the space needs to operate. Where appropriate, this can include a Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (TVRA) and Vehicle Dynamics Assessment (VDA).
The result is a clear picture of what needs protecting, why it needs protecting and what level of mitigation is proportionate. That means considering existing measures, pedestrian movement, authorised vehicle access, operational requirements and budget before recommending physical HVM.
This risk-led approach reflects the principles behind effective HVM: measures should be informed by risk and form part of a wider security plan, rather than simply putting barriers wherever vehicles could potentially go.
We understand the risk first, so you invest in what’s appropriate, nothing excessive or unnecessary.
Provide
Once we understand the risk and operational requirement, we can specify the right solution.
We act as a HVM specialist, not a barrier manufacturer, so our starting point is the requirement rather than a particular product. We have access to a broad range of impact-tested and certified temporary, semi-permanent and permanent HVM systems, giving us the flexibility to match the solution to the site, operation and budget.
Different environments can require very different things from their HVM. Our job is to bring those considerations together and recommend an appropriate, proportionate solution.
Proudly product-agnostic and never one-size-fits-all. Just specialist HVM expertise tailored to your real-world requirements.
Protect
The right HVM solution only works as intended when it is delivered correctly. Protect is about making sure the thinking that went into the Plan and Provide stages carries right through to the finished deployment.
Crowdguard uses fully tested and rated HVM products, selected according to the identified risk and operational requirement. Our trained teams then follow robust quality assurance processes, with documented checks and sign-off supporting a clear approach to due diligence.
Where appropriate, this can be further supported by Snapshot Live, our optional assurance technology, providing an additional, time-stamped visual record to complement our established QA processes.
This gives our customers confidence that HVM hasn’t simply been supplied but has been properly considered, professionally delivered and quality assured.
It’s the final part of our end-to-end methodology: bringing specialist expertise, certified products and professional processes together to deliver proportionate protection you can trust.
