For the third year in a row, the Crowdguard team provided HVM solutions to protect Paisley City centre
The Crowdguard team were back at the Paisley Food & Drink festival last weekend, which ran from 4pm-10pm on Friday, April 25, and 12noon–9pm on Saturday, April 26.
The festival took place in Abbey Close and Bridge Street, in Paisley town centre, and was the biggest ever!
There were over 50 delicious food and drink vendors from across Scotland offering a mouth-watering range of food and drink, so there’s no doubt that the crowds in Paisley city centre enjoyed the atmosphere and the weather.
There was also a full music programme over both days from the Keg Stage and The Bungalow Soul and Motown Stage, as well at in Abbey Gardens that drew good crowds throughout the course of the weekend, meaning that there was a constant flow of pedestrian traffic around the city centre.
Iain Moran, Managing Director of Crowdguard said:
“This is the third successive year that we have worked with the Paisley Food & Drink Festival, and Renfrewshire Council – and this year’s event was by far the biggest and busiest!
To keep the crowds safe from the threat of a hostile vehicle incursion, we deployed ARX Security Stopper and Highway Care Security RB50 temporary HVM solutions at key road junctions and pavement areas.
Why the Stopper and RB50? Because they offer VADS and IWA14-rated levels of protection respectively, and because of their ease of transportation, deployment and removal for emergency vehicles, if necessary – making them a perfect fit for Paisley city centre.”
Catherine Horsburgh, Senior Operational Events Lead at Renfrewshire Council said:
“We love working with the Crowdguard team. Having partnered with them as our HVM supplier for the Food & Drink Festival for three years, as well as for our Halloween Festival and Christmas Lights switch-on, we know that we can rely on them for professional, practical and impartial advice, when it comes to recommending the HVM set up for each of our events. I love the way that they treat each of our events as a unique, standalone project, and not just go with the same HVM solution that they used for a previous event – that level of honesty is refreshing, and we value it enormously.”
