Protecting Pedestrians for the Bard’s Birthday bash
“All the world’s a stage” said Shakespeare, and that was certainly true for his birthday celebrations in Stratford-upon-Avon yesterday (26th April).
Born on 23rd April 1564, William Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s pre-eminent dramatist.
He was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, and spent his final days there until he passed away on his 52nd birthday on the 23rd April 1616.
In what would have been his 461st birthday, the annual celebrations in Shakespeare’s home town attract large local crowds, keen to celebrate their most famous resident.
In the morning, schoolchildren from the area march towards Upper Bridge street, led by the Air Training Corps Band, with eager crowds lining the streets.
Working in partnership with Stratford-Upon-Avon Town Council and the Stratford Upon Avon Business Improvement District, the Crowdguard team were in action, deploying ARX Security Stopper and Husson International H-Stop at key locations along the route of the celebratory parade in the town centre to keep the crowds safe from the threat of a hostile vehicle incursion.
