Designed to provide robust and reliable hostile vehicle mitigation and security for a wide range of public realm environments, stadia, events, festivals, protests and VIP visits, ATG Surface Guard is an innovative and versatile temporary HVM solution.

A Counter Terror Awards winner, the ATG Surface Guard HVM security system offers excellent protection from danger without looking menacing or unwelcoming. It allows pedestrians, cyclists, prams and mounted police to move freely between the HVM barriers, while keeping vehicles out.

Tested to the IWA 14-1 standard and VADS certified, the ATG Surface Guard temporary HVM barrier has been proven to stop a 2,500kg vehicle – the equivalent of a large MPV or light commercial vehicle – travelling at a speed of 48kph, and to stop a 7,200kg vehicle – an HGV – travelling at 32 kph.

The ATG Surface Guard hostile vehicle mitigation barrier is completely surface mounted, ensuring it offers a solution that:

  • Is fast to install
  • Is fully pedestrian permeable with zero impact on flow rates
  • Can allow emergency vehicular access within 30 seconds
  • Can be removed quickly and easily
  • Needs no preparation of foundations or fixings
  • Does not damage the installation area
  • Offers an aesthetically pleasing and neat solution with the option of branded wrapping
  • Can manage all types of road cambers, kerbs, traffic islands, trees or street furniture
  • Can be utilised as a temporary measure or deployed longer term with more permanent anchors

At Crowdguard, we offer a complete service for the deployment of the ATG Surface Guard HVM barrier at your location or event. We can tailor your installation around your risk assessment and security requirements, advising you on the best way to maximise HVM protection at your site. We can also provide a threat, vulnerability and risk assessment (TVRA) service, to help you identify risk and make an informed decision about appropriate and proportionate risk mitigation.

The modular ATG Surface Guard HVM system is lightweight and compact, and we can deliver it to site and install it for you, without the need for any specialist lifting equipment.

Where required, we can install vehicle access points to ensure the emergency services can reach the pedestrian area. These access points are reinforced with steel plates to cope with heavier vehicles, and finished in bright yellow to clearly mark their location. The system has been designed to enable authorised personnel to manually lower the protective barrier in less than 30 seconds should an emergency vehicle need to come through. And if access is required for low chassis vehicles or there needs to be an option to re-open the road to general traffic, we can fit vehicle access extension plates, adding to the array of configuration options.

To make the ATG Surface Guard HVM solution an even more integral part of your location or event, we can even customise the HVM barriers with your branding, or that of your sponsors, or add LED lighting or footfall counters.

MODULAR PROTECTION SYSTEM

A

Polyurethane cover, supplied in light grey. Easy to stack and light-weight to store and carry. Can be vinyl wrapped to accommodate branding or sponsorship logos and designs.

B

Warning chevrons on the front cover panel to increase visibility.

C

Modularity of the system allows for a change in road level. This suits installations which need to run across a road and then a stepped pavement. This also allows for installation across a central reservation.

D

Individual section ramps along with adjustable connectors allow the system to cope with uneven surfaces and severe road cambers.

E

Approach ramp with anti-slip matting allowing easy access through the system for cyclists, wheelchairs, prams and walking aids. The standard depth of the ramp is 450 mm. This can be shortened or elongated if required.

F

Lightweight, flexible, anti-slip in-fill panels. For the vehicular access point, the in-fill panels are constructed from mild-steel to cope with high axel loadings.
